Opis

Canvax Kanamycin Sulfate, molecular biology grade aminoglycoside antibiotic for bacterial selection.

Kanamycin Sulfate is a high-purity, molecular biology-grade aminoglycoside antibiotic derived from Streptomyces kanamyceticus. It possesses a broad antibacterial spectrum including many Gram-positive, Gram-negative bacteria and mycobacteria. This reagent is designed for in vitro research use, particularly for selection of bacterial, fungal or mammalian cells carrying kanamycin resistance genes such as kanMX or NPT II, and for maintaining sterile cell culture systems by preventing bacterial contamination.

The mechanism of action is via binding to the 70S ribosomal subunits, leading to miscoding and inhibition of protein synthesis. Canvax Kanamycin Sulfate ensures lot-to-lot consistency, high activity, and low impurity levels.

For Research Use Only (RUO). Not for use in diagnostic procedures, human or veterinary applications.

Advantages & Features
  • ≥750 units/mg potency ensures strong selective pressure and efficient cell selection.

Advice & Storage & Shipping
  • Prepare stock solutions in sterile water; typical working concentrations vary depending on organism: e.g. 50-100 µg/mL for bacteria, 200-400 µg/mL for mammalian selection

  • Filter sterilize (0.2 µm) when needed.

  • Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles; prepare aliquots of stock solutions for long-term storage
